The volunteers
They are persons who wish to participate voluntarily in the action of
Alouette Foundation and want to help on the field in the Philippines
the team of Bernard Pierquin. Bernard examines every candidacy then entrusts
to the successful applicant – “the Volunteer” –
a particular mission for a definite duration (from 2 m to several months)

Since 1998, Alouette Foundation has already welcome many volunteers

Volunteers in 2010
- Marketing – Sponsorings for the Center for Abused Girls in Palawan
(3 months – Fanny, OJT)
- Marketing – Creation of communications tools and search for
school sponsorings (3 months – Blandine R, OJT)
- Reorganize the program of micro-credit (6 months – Maelle, volunteer)
- Coordinate the project of the Residential Center for Abused Girls
in Palawan (6 mois – Blandine C., volunteer)
Volunteers in 2009
- Coordinate the project of the Residential Center for Abused Girls
in Palawan (3 months – Emilie, OJT)
- Maintain the operation of the Residential Center for Abused Girls
in Palawan (4 months – Bertha, OJT)
- Communication - Realization of a film presenting the programs of Alouette
Foundation (2 months – Elise et Rudi, volunteers)
- Marketing - Sponsoring with the local companies - Creation of a "Guide
of the volunteer" (2 months – Elise, volunteer)
Volunteers in 2008
- Creation of slide show on all the programs (6 months – Maïa,
volunteer)
- Setting up a sponsorship campain for the underprivileged children
living in the slums of Metro Manila (2 months – Clémentine,
internee)
- Setting up micro-loans for 25 families in Pasay (3 months, Solenne,
internee)

- Reorganizing and setting up the “Samoki Weavers” project (6 months – Alice and Manu, volunteers)
- Activities with children in Pasay (Scout group – Elodie,
Jeanne, Simon, Pierre Emmanuel, Amélie and Mathilde)
- Supervising the weaving project in Samoki Bontoc and developing sponsors (Yohan)

- Project design and drafting for a care center for abused girls (5 months – Mathilde, internee)
- Setting up the “sewing workshop in Malibay” project (Clotilde, student in Manila for 1 year, volunteer)
- Participating in renovating the premises in Samoki Bontoc (Raphaël, volunteer)
- Reorganizing and setting up the “Samoki Weavers” project (6 months – Alice and Manu, volunteers)

- Marketing – promoting Alouette amongst local companies (1½ months – Jacinthe, volunteer)

- Activities with children from the local district and shantytowns
(Jonathan, Josselin, Simon and Quentin – Scouts of France).
Volunteers in 2003
- Activities with the children of San Antonio-Abra and help
in the nursery school with Claire, Severine, Maryline and Chrystelle,
who are all social workers. (Claire had already been to Malibay in 2000).
- Activities with the children in Baguio, Pangasinan and Bontoc (1 month – Marion and Marc – Guilde du Raid)
- Activities with the children in Pasay and Quezon Province (1 month – Charles and Amandine - Guilde du Raid)
- Audit of the association, the sponsorship program and the Palawan project and sharing expertise with the accountant (Pierre, student of
chartered accountancy)
Volunteers in 2002
- A few young people from the first group of voluntary workers
from Bagnolet wished to return to the Philippines to see how the project
was developing. They were joined by a group of women from the neighborhood.
Virginie, Sakiha, Emile, Tayeb and Saïd transformed the nursery
school by decorating the walls. They also exchanged French and North
African cooking recipes with recipes from the Philippines.

setting up a database of the beneficiaries (1 month – Jean-Christophe

- Setting up tools for finding funds (1 month – Eric – Switzerland)
- IT training and promoting the Alouette Foundation (3 months
– Mounira and Olivia – Ecole 3A)
- IT training and promoting the Alouette Foundation (1 month

- Activities with children in the local district (1 month, Lucile, Nadia,
Hervé – Guilde du Raid)
Volunteers in 2000
- Organizing shared transport for the children of Santa Lucia. Studies into the rental of large premises for holding meetings and other
activities (2 months – Nadège)
- Master’s Degree in the Management of Associations at Maine University
– Le Mans. Computerization of Alouette Foundation’s
accounts and setting up computational tools for different programs (2
months – Khemara Ith)
- IT training for adults (1 month – Amandine)
- Activities with children in the local district (Géraldine, Richard, Hervé, Laurent, Fanny, Nathanaël – HEC)
- Activities with children in the local district (Jérémie, Claire, Laetitia, Matthieu, Julien – Mission de France, Guilde
du Raid)
Volunteers in 1999
- Communication with companies and other French NGOs and organization
of the "Printemps de la France" in Manila (3 months –
Caroline)
- Student at the Michel Montaigne IUT in Bordeaux in Social Careers,
Development and Humanitarian Action Management - Organization of the
"Printemps de la France", coordination networking with French
NGOs, marketing aimed at French companies (3 months – Géraldine)
- Activities with children of the local district and shanty
towns - Mission de France, organized by the Guilde Europeenne du Raid
(1½ months: Jean-Philippe, Clélia, Camille, Claire, Thibaud
and Marion)
Volunteers in 1998
- Renovating the Day Care Center in Malibay (team of 6 workers from
Bagnolet: Cheikh, Kamel, Pascal, Sergio, Karim and Kader, supervised
by Saïd)
- Requesting French companies based in the Philippines for computer
equipment. Study on exporting the products of the Samoki weavers. (2
months – Régis).
- Setting up the micro-loan program (3 months – Claire - Student
at Michel Montaigne IUT in Bordeaux, Managing Development and Humanitarian
Action)
- "Access" software classes for the Filipino staff (Sébastien,
1½ months)
- IT training for the children of the IT training center (2 months -
Marie-Laure)
- Activities with the children and adults of the Foundation –
Mission de France, organized by the European Guilde du Raid (team of
6 French students for 1 month: Agnès, Alexandra, Christophe,
Elise, Laure-Hélène, and Pascale).
- Setting up the Foundation’s website (3 months – Julie)
- Market research on the opening of a small store to sell the products
of the Samoki weavers (3 months – Sandrine).
Welcoming volunteers
Volunteers will be welcomed in Manila, in the Malibay district (Pasay
City), where the foundation is located. Accommodation is provided for
volunteers, who will be asked to participate towards costs. The costs
of the flight and food are at the volunteers’ expense.
Warning!
We receive many applications from volunteers and can only accept those
people who will be of real use to the Foundation. It is important to be
competent in a precise domain. It is also important to come for the right
reasons. Think it over.
