LOUETTE'S PROGRAMS & SERVICES
Micro-loans
to families |
Why these micro-loans
to families ?
Many families do not have a regular income. Often, enterprising mothers
open a little commerce in their home (Sari-Sari Store) or sell from door
to door.
In order to start their business they need to invest a certain amount
of money to begin selling clothes, vegetables, ... Often their only choice
is to borrow money from a usurer at a very high interest rate.
The Foundation addresses itself to the needs of these poor families who
are willing to work but who have no opportunities. This way Alouette contributes
to making their everyday life a little easier.
The program
Under the program, poor people are provided with capital and loan assistance
to start income generating projects such as sewing, "supot"
making, food vending and "sari-sari store".
Other actions
Samoki Weavers
Association is another group of people helped by the foundation. The Foundation
not only provides financial assistance but it also promotes and markets
the products of these people in other parts of Luzon and also outside
the country particularly Europe.
