Why ?
Today, more and more mothers are busy working supplementing the family income. With both parents away earning a living, many children are left unattended.
Alouette Foundation therefore created a center to provide a venue where these children could undergo worthwhile activities: The harmony Day-Care Center. It is located in Malibay, one of the poorest neighborhoods of Metro-Manila.
Today, the center holds 130 children

The Day-Care Center is also:
Serving as an alternative child support structure, the center is adequately responsive to the developmental needs of the children as to the child care needs of the parents. It provides the children with the basis of learning, inculcates spiritual and moral values, and promotes nationalism and environment awareness.

Fundamental health care (dental and medical check-ups) are also provided and proper hygiene and cleanliness habits are being taught to the children.

Parent's involvement
Eventhough most parents are busy working, the Day-Care Center encourages their participation and involvement to facilitate the learning process. The Center gives a lot importance to each parent's role to emphasize their vital role in their children's teaching. They participate in every activity the Center is involved in and are particularly present in fund raising activities, nutrition week, and Palig-Sining.
